WAYS TO GO GREEN AND SAVE
#3 Less Gas = More Money (and better health) Walk or bike to work if possible. This saves on gas and parking costs while improving your cardiovascular health and reducing your risk of obesity. Consider telecommuting if you live far from where you work or move closer. Even if it means paying more rent, it could save you money in the long run. Lobby your local government to increase spending on sidewalks and bike lanes. With little cost, these improvements can pay huge dividends in bettering your health and reducing traffic.

Ways to GO Green and Save
#2 Save Water and Save Money Take shorter showers to reduce water usage. This will lower your water and heating bills. Install a low-flow showerhead. They do not cost much and the water and energy savings can quickly pay back your investment. Make sure you have a faucet aerator on each faucet. These inexpensive appliances conserve water and heat while keeping water pressure high. In your garden plant draught tolerant native plants. Many plants need minimal watering. Find out which occur naturally in your area.

Ways to Go Green and Save
These days it seems like many people are "going green". There are some simple things you can do to help save our environment, make your lives healthier, and save money. 1. Save Energy to Save Money - Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer to save on heating and cooling costs.
- Install compact florescent bulbs when your incandescent bulbs burn out
- Unplug appliances when you are not using them, or use a "smart" power strip that senses when appliances are off and cuts "phantom" or "vampire" energy use.
- Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible. As much as 85% of energy used to machine wash clothes goes to heating the water.
- Use a drying rack or clothesline to save energy otherwise used during machine drying.

Ideas for Winter Curb Appeal
Curb Appeal Idea #5 Clear a path to your door! One of the most important things you can do is simple. Make sure that the sidewalks, driveway, decks and patios are clear of snow and debris. You will want potential buyers to get a true sense of the their size and make your home easily accessible to them. Snow covered sidewalks distract buyers, making them worry more about slipping on the snow rather than concentrating on how attractive your home is.

Ideas For Winter Curb Appeal
CURB APPEAL IDEA #4 A photo display with photographs of the home during other seasons will give the buyer(s) an idea of what the property will look like at other times. You can put them in frames or use a digital photo frame and create a slide show. Let the buyers know what is planted in the garden, especially perennials. This can be a selling feature because of the cost to purchase them.

Ideas for Winter Crub Appeal
Curb Appeal Idea #3 Dress up the deck. Even though the winter weather is here, set up the deck as though it were warmer outside. Uncover the furniture and place it in positions that will show off the space to it's best advantage. Add some color by using pillows that have weatherproof coverings. Better yet have the colors play off the interior colors. This will make the indoor space feel bigger and will let the buyer see what potential the deck has for them. --- Bryan VogtStrano & Associates, Realtors® - GMAC Real Estate(618) 355-5824--- O'Fallon IL Real Estate, Condos, Homes for SaleSwansea IL Real Estate, Condos, Homes for SaleBellville IL Real Estate, Condos, Homes for SaleScott AFB PCS Relocation--- Labels: deck curb appeal

Ideas For Winter Curb Appeal
CURB APPEAL IDEA #2
Lighting can greatly improve the exterior appeal of your home especially on winter evenings. Many buyers will view your home after dark and the exterior lighting can add a warm glow to your home. Use spotlights to show off architectural features and be sure to keep the bulbs clean for maximum light. When there is snow on the ground, turning on all of the interior lights casts an inviting glow that is welcoming. A picture, taken without flash and using a tri-pod to prevent blurring, can be used for marketing purposes and will leave potential buyers with a good impression.

Ideas For Winter Curb Appeal
Winter Outdoor Staging During the summer months curb appeal is much easier with sun shine, blooming flowers, and green manicured lawns. When winter arrives, grabbing a buyer's attention can be much more difficult. but with a little creativity it is still possible to show off the exterior of your home to it's best advantage. Over the next few days we will give you some simple steps to help you create an inviting first impression. Step #1 is to add color! Put a large wreath on the front door with a colorful ribbon. Use colorful planters filled with evergreens close to the front door. Choose plants for the landscaping that can weather a harsh winter, such as some of the fountain grasses and in late fall or early winter use plants from the cabbage family to add color. --- Bryan VogtStrano & Associates, Realtors® - GMAC Real Estate(618) 355-5824--- O'Fallon IL Real Estate, Condos, Homes for SaleSwansea IL Real Estate, Condos, Homes for SaleBellville IL Real Estate, Condos, Homes for SaleScott AFB PCS Relocation---
